JAY Z Sued for $20 Million by Parlux Fragrances

Remember three years ago when JAY Z released Magna Carta Holy Grail? Well, in the midst of promotions for the project, he was tapped to be the brand face of Parlux Fragrances’s GOLD JAY Z cologne line. The Brooklyn mogul-rapper reportedly agreed to originally to make six promotional appearances by the brand to promote the October 2013 launched fragrance – but has made none.

This prompted the perfume and cologne brand to slap Shawn Carter with an $20-million-dollar lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Courts earlier this morning. After declining six different times to patriciate in promotions for the company after a written agreement, Parlux lawyer Anthony Viola says JAY also kept his guaranteed $2 million up-front royalty fee.

At the moment, Parlux wants Mr. Carter to pay at least 18 million in compensatory damage fees, return his previously mentioned royalty payment, void their contract and give back 300,000 stock shares in Perfumania. We’ll keep you updated on any progression in this story.
