We heard a little bit about The Carmichael Show on NBC last season and it took a little bit of time to catch up, but we checked out the first season of the series. The show was well received and it was only a short six episodes, so it was worth checking out. While we didn’t think it was absolutely hilarious, it was definitely an entertaining watch.
With a preview of season two airing last night, NBC is giving the series a bigger push this season, moving the show to Sundays and ordering 13 episodes.
Jerrod was on The Breakfast Club to promote season two and talk about his kind of comedy. Certain jokes he has told in the past offended people, particularly, his Trayvon Martin and rape topics. In the interview, he says they were told to challenge people’s train of thought and not meant as disrespect, but rather to question people’s perspective.
With The Carmichael Show tackling the subject of Bill Cosby soon, we’re sure a lot of folks will start hearing more and more about Jerrod’s series.
