Here’s the joker’s official role in Suicide Squad!
Arguably the most anticipated comic book film for this year is now Suicide Squad. Following the poor-received Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice last spring, Warner Bros. is looking to make it up to their fans of the DC Universe next month with the anti-hero film.
While Batman has been seen in various previews for the upcoming movie, little has been known for his arch enemy, The Joker. That was until this a few days, when Entertainment Weekly released a feature for the project, giving a first look at new photos and plot details. The redemption story for the anti-heroes of Midway City will take place after the events of the Dawn of Justice, as Joker will be looking to reunite with his only love, Harley Quinn – which will stop at nothing.
We’re curious if this will continue into the official spin-off film for Harley, as Margot Robbie has been tapped to star in the stand-alone release. Take a look at the description below and let us know how you feel about the former stand-up comedian’s role in Suicide Squad.
Jared Leto’s Joker is different than any we’ve seen before—less theatrical than Jack Nicholson, more unhinged than Heath Ledger—but no less psychotic. Despite all his power, this Clown Prince of Crime is having difficulty reuniting with true love Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie)—a rift that has left him agitated and…well, slightly sad.
