Life after The Daily Show
Jon Stewart departed from Comedy Central and put an end to his run at The Daily Show earlier this year, but it seems like he has a new endeavor on deck.
HBO announced today that they inked Stewart to a 4-year production deal to produce “short-form digital content” on the network, as well as giving the cable channel a first look at film and/or television projects he’s working on. The daily workload of being on TV every day took a toll on Jon, especially with the election cycle on the way, but he joked in a statement saying, “Appearing on television 22 minutes a night clearly broke me. I’m pretty sure I can produce a few minutes of content every now and again.”
This definitely is a move to upgrade HBO’s standalone subscription model HBO Now, which is where the content will be housed.
