Don’t worry though, JL2 is still dropping!
Last weekend, Warner Bros. issued a press release statement with filming for next year’s Justice League project officially wrapping up production this month. Previously, the official sequel to next year’s team-up film with Bruce, Clark, Diana and the rest was set for a June 14, 2019 date.
However, DC Comics has had a change of mind for their DCU and want to move forward with Bruce Wayne. The company didn’t confirm who would now absorb that date; so we’re assuming it’ll be given to the Ben Affleck stand-alone Dark Knight film, The Batman.
Production for Affleck’s upcoming solo project as Batman will begin late 2017 and continue through mid-2018, for a possible release the following year. It’s no word on when Justice League 2 will hit the big-screen; but we’re hopeful it makes the cut for decade’s end.
While the new DC Universe may be up and running, their fate for the general public to take them serious as competitors to Marvel Comics all relies on the first Dark Knight film.
