Kanye West teased a very special announcement this past weekend at his show at Madison Square Garden. At first it was not known what the big announcement would be, but that didn’t stop rumors from flying all over the Internet. Luckily for all of us Ye dropped by Angie Martinez’s studio tonight for an interview and exclusively revealed that he is starting a new partnership with Adidas, and thus leaving Nike.
Kanye said that though Nike gave him all the creative freedom he was looking for, the failure to pay him royalties was a major part of his decision to leave. It is not yet known to what extent Ye’s deal with Adidas will bring, but knowing Kanye it will be very special.
