Since the release of Zack and Miri Make a Porno in 2008, Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes have been absent from releasing installments in their over-the-top comedy films. Luckily for long-time fans like us, the two are planning to shoot the third and final film in their Clerks trilogy series beginning this spring and have more projects on the way.
In a recent social media announcement, the New Joisey legendary director-producer and actor detailed his next 12 months of being active on sets. Clerks III principle filming in Philadelphia is set to begin this May, followed by Hit Somebody in December and Moose Jaws next February. After those are completed, Smith teased fans with saying “I smell a rat”; which instantly sparked speculation of a sequel to his 1995 classic, Mallrats.
There’s no word on whether the original cast will be retuning for the sequel, but we’re hopeful Ben Affleck and our girl Joey Lauren Adams (also see: Chasing Amy) make some type of appearance.
We shoot CLERKS III in May. HIT SOMEBODY shoots September to Christmas. Then in Feb 2016, we do MOOSE JAWS. But after that? I smell a rat…
