Ryan Gosling co-starred with Russell Crowe in The Nice Guys earlier this year, but he’s ready to return to the big screen this fall in La La Land.
Directed and written by Damien Chazelle (Whiplash), the upcoming comedy-drama musical is based on a jazz pianist named Sebastian (Gosling) who falls for an aspiring actress named Mia (Emma Stone). It’s set in modern day Los Angeles, but it has a clearly old Hollywood look and feel to it.
Gosling and Stone have previously worked together in Crazy, Stupid, Love and Gangster Squad. The film, also starring J. K. Simmons, Rosemarie DeWitt, Finn Wittrock and Meagen Fay, is out December 2nd.
