The new episode of Sneaker Shopping is switching things up a little and going to the actress side of things, as Lauren London meets Joe La Puma at Flight Club in Los Angeles to talk shoe style, how Aaliyah was so inspiring on so many levels, a crush that got his J’s robbed and cried in front of her, as well as being in Pharrell‘s “Frontin” video.
“Being around his presence, you feel the genius around him. And you have to respect that. For me, I was 17 years old in that video. I was in the 12th grade. I was working for Paul Hunter at the time, and he called me at the office and was like, “Pharrell needs a ‘regular-looking girl’ in this video. Fly down to Miami.” So they flew me down to Miami because I was a “regular-looking girl.” I had no idea what I was getting into. It doesn’t surprise me [that Pharrell’s running the fashion world]. I don’t know if I looked at it in that way, because I was 17 and my mind was elsewhere.”
She also said an ATL sequel may be in the works.
