Leonardo DiCaprio’s 2016 Oscar Speech

We waited three hours to see it happen and it finally did: Leonardo DiCaprio won his first ever Academy Award. The doubts were creeping in as the moment got closer, but the Oscars finally gave the man his overdue golden statue after six nominations and 23 years in the game. Leo got on stage and thanked everyone he worked with in The Revenant, including Tom Hardy and Alejandro González Iñárritu, but he ended his speech speaking on a very real topic affecting all of us.

Before the music could cut him off, he gave his two cents on climate change to make people aware of what’s going on with planet earth and how how close to home it was for him. The subject was very real even when shooting the movie The Revenant.

Watch his Oscars speech again and educate yourself about climate change moving forward.
