Lin-Manuel Miranda makes it to The White House!
If you watched the Grammy Awards last month, one stand-out win was the hip-hop broadway musical, Hamilton, walking away with Best Musical Theater Album.
Star and writer of the project, Lin-Manuel Miranda was invited to the White House earlier to perform with his fellow cast mates at the East Room of the landmark. However, soon after, President Barack Obama and Miranda convened to the Rose Garden section for an impromptu freestyle.
So real, that Obama even admitted he was nervous about accidentally dropping the cards and Lin-Manuel revealing that he didn’t know which words he would rap about – talk about talent.
“We really need a new justice for the Supreme Court, in short, oh my gosh this is my book report. And immigrants, we get the job done, this is so fun, POTUS is holding up the signs, I’m not done.”
Take a look at the historic clip above, with this rare rap freestyle at The White House.
