Meet Werner Freund, an 80-year old in Germany living amongst wolves. He’s been at it for over 40 years & has established himself the alpha male of the pack, providing the food for them to eat day in and day out. Wolves have taken over the small town of Merzig, sometimes invading people’s farms and eating their livestock but Freund emphasizes that wolves are harmless, unless they feel threatened or are attacked & only in rare occasions do they ever attack on their own. People from the town aren’t too fond.
Wolves aren’t the only wild animal he’s lived around. He’s also been on numerous expeditions & lived with bears, as well as tribes in Africa & other parts of the world.
As you can see from the documentary, he eats the raw deer with the wolves and they embrace him, kissing his face and being friendly. He says if it was up to him, he rather live the life of the wolf than that of a human. Shit is crazy.
