Lupita Nyong’o for VOGUE (October 2015)

The superstar

Things are about to turn the fuck up for Lupita Nyong’o to end 2015. Not only is she starring on the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens film, but she’s getting into Broadway, she’s in the Mira Nair–directed Queen of Katwe and even in The Jungle Book.

In what happens to be her second VOGUE cover, Lupita talks to the magazine about her upbringing in Africa and how her family shaped her life, being born in Mexico, coming to the United States and experiencing racism for the first time at Yale, tackling more dramatic roles, as well as what she has been inspired to do since winning an Oscar for 12 Years A Slave. Nyong’o just got back from Kenya an an elephant saving mission and loves to give back to her country and mentioned it was amazing to get the praise from her country after winning the Oscar. She wants to inspire other girls to live their dreams and make a positive impact on others.

Oh, and she’s not thinking about kids or being a mother yet, even though her own mom is pushing towards it. You can read about all that and more over at VOGUE.
