Macy’s Enlist KAWS For The 2012 Thanksgiving Day Parade

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is one of the of the most nationally known biggest parades of the year, showcasing some of the worlds top bands and also some of the most talented artist and craftsmen. For this years parade, Macy’s reaches out to New Jersey native, artist KAWS to participate in the event. KAWS gears up to put together a float sized balloon of his iconic character “Companion”. The gigantic Companion balloon stands 40-foot-long and is made out of a urethane coated nylon that brings out some shiny detail in the character.

In the video above, watch as KAWS explains how him and the folks over at Macy’s linked up, and also gives some insight on the design process behind the Companion float.
