James Franco has never been one to take a break from filming over the years, and it’s only right that 2014 is kicked off with another in the form of Maladies, which was filmed several years ago.
For those who don’t know, a “malady” is defined as a disease, disorder or ailment, which coincides with the story of an actor retiring at a young age due to a mental illness. Starring Franco, Catherine Keener, David Strathairn, Alan Cumming and Fallon Goodson, we’re taken into the life of the former actor in his hometown as he looks to spend time as a writer, who happens to live with his sister and friend, based in New York during the 1960s. The trailer may not win you over at first glance, but we’ll certainly be giving it a shot.
The film will be available in theaters on March 21st.
