Do you even remember the last time Martin Lawrence had a stand-up special on TV? Probably not, so let’s refresh your memory. The year was 2002. The movie was called Runteldat. It grossed 19.18 million at the box office. And here we are 14 years later, as the hiatus for the comedian is finally over. On September 9, Showtime will air Lawrence’s new special titled Doin’ Time: Uncut.
Considering Kevin Hart is the undisputed comedy king right now, it will be interesting to see how audiences warm back up to Martin’s set. The special was filmed at Los Angeles’ Orpheum Theatre and will see the comedian talk about the Obama’s, Caitlyn Jenner, Bill Cosby and more.
