Is Scorsese the Man for ‘Evel Knievel’?
Martin Scorsese is a busy man and one of the most in demand directors in the industry, so he doesn’t jump on board just any project. But, with award-winning screenwriter William Monahan (The Gambler, Body of Lies) on board for the upcoming Evel Knievel movie, Paramount Pictures have high hopes of landing Martin Scorsese and reuniting him with Monahan.
It’s taken a long time for a biopic surface, but a film about the iconic stuntman, based on Sheldon Saltman’s book Evel Knievel on Tour, could prove to be a big hit if handled by the right people.
Scorsese and Monahan worked together on The Departed back in 2006, which won Oscars for Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Director.
