Farewell, Wolverine!
With 20th Century Fox and Marvel Comics looking to move into the next phase of their X-Men Universe, Hugh Jackman is leaving behind his long-standing role as the Wolverine. However, unlike previous finales for superhero films, the character and the series is doing something neither DC or Marvel has done prior; which is jump into the future and give his character a proper sendoff.
Next spring, the world will be treated to the official post-apocalyptic film set in the future of 2024, Logan, as the debut trailer arrives this weekend. Above, we get a glimpse into the action everyone should witness on IMAX in 2017, with Logan reuniting with his old mentor Charles Xavier – as he must help his clone Laura Kinney (code named X-23) escape danger from Nathaniel Essex.
With Wolverine’s healing abilities slowly fading away and Professor X still dealing with the loss of the X-Men, it’s only so much time they have to fend off Mister Sinister. Also starring Dafne Keen, Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, and Stephen Merchant – look for Logan in theaters on March 3, 2017.
