Earlier today, Stephen King took to his Twitter account to announce that Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba will star as leads in an adaptation of The Dark Tower. The film will be directed by Nikolaj Arcel for release on January 13th, 2017, with Elba playing Roland Deschain and McConaughey in the role of The Man In Black.
For now, it’s set to be a standalone movie — unlike the series, which features eight novels.
