Ladies, this one is for you!
Most real G’s know Michael B. Jordan as Wallace from The Wire. Most females know him as Michael B. Jordan, the actor from Friday Night Lights. Or maybe some saw his role in Fruitvale Station. Perhaps you caught him on the daytime soap opera All My Children. Regardless of where you first got wind of his talent, there’s one thing that you can’t deny: this star is on the rise.
With the upcoming role in Creed (we won’t talk about Fantastic Four), MJ is about to be everywhere and GQ is making sure he gets his proper shine by putting him on the cover of the latest issue.
For the interview, he opens about how some of his earlier roles shaped his career, why he’s vowed to remain single until he hits his 30’s, why fans sent him backlash after they thought he was dating Kendall Jenner and what he’s been up to lately.
“I’m not chasing anything. I’m not chasing money, I’m not chasing fame. I’m out here in my own time doing things that matter to me, and what I feel like would matter to people. That’s honestly it. I want to do roles that fucking people think about. I don’t want people coming to me, ‘I want to pitch you because you’re famous…oh, I see you on TV’—that’s fucking wack. I want to do roles that are like, ‘Oh, man, I have a cousin that went through that…I went through that, or I know what that feels like.’ Like, it just means more.”
In the video above, GQ makes women’s wishes come true through Michael, as he does what they asked for. Some wanted him to be their gym buddy. Others would rather have him to talk to and talk about their feelings. There were a slew of things females asked of him, but the funniest response was when he said “why don’t we pour her a hot cup of shut the fuck up.” We gotta use that one.
