Out of all the prophecies that Back To The Future had in its movies, one of the more disappointing ones that didn’t come true were the self-lacing shoes Marty McFly wore. That dream has now become a reality and Michael J. Fox might have the first pair of Nike Air Mags, the company’s official self-lacing sneaker.
On his stop to Jimmy Kimmel Live! the other day, he took the time to show off the technology and how it worked, saying he got the pair of kicks that day. Apparently, there are buttons on the side of the shoe that help tighten or loosen the “power laces” on the kicks. He said the Nike Air Mags will only be available through auction, with the proceeds benefiting the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which conduscts research for Parkinson’s Disease.
The shoes got a standing ovation and will undoubtedly be the most rare kicks hypebeats will try to buy when they come out next year.
