The Guest
If you’ve been waiting on a psychological thriller film with a twist of bad ass action over the last few months, look no further than The Guest. Originally seen at last January’s Sundance Film Festival, the upcoming movie finally sees a stateside release. Starring Dan Stevens, Maika Monroe, Brendan Meyer and Lance Reddick, the flick centers on a family that unusually receives an unexpected guest from a young soldier (David), who was on the battlefield when their son was killed in war.
The Peterson’s are intrigued initially to find out information on their son’s final days on earth, but people in the surrounding small start mysteriously dying. When the family’s teenage daughter Anna draws assumptions that David might be behind not only the murders in town, but also her brother; they’re in store for a deeper outcome than many expected. The new film is already receiving an overwhelming positive response, which we expect to be a hit in the weeks of fall.
