The Walk
TriStar Pictures faces some obvious competition this weekend and our guy Joseph Gordon-Levitt is back on the big screen tonight in The Walk. He assumes the role of Philippe Petit, who has an infatuation with performing daredevil acts for groups of crowds throughout his childhood. Now as an adult, he has complete freedom to face death in the face and wants to attempt a seemingly impossible stunt by tight roping the north and south towers of the World Trade Center.
With guidance from Papa Rudy, the autobiographical tale of the infamous August 7, 1974 stunt comes to life. Surprisingly, we wouldn’t expect this film to top the box offices, but through proper promotions and an assisted co-cast of Ben Kingsley, Charlotte Le Bon, James Badge Dale, Ben Schwartz, and Steve Valentine will have movie goers giving this one a second look.
