The Final Girls
We’re always in the mood for a horror spoof film, but one with a PG-13 rating has us skeptical whether or not it’ll be something that’ll catch the eye of casual movie goers this weekend. The former South by Southwest Film Festival standout focuses on a young woman, Max, grieving the loss of her mother – a former famous actor. Through a usual mystery, the high school student is transported into the 1980s to the set of her mother Malin’s film, as the two are reunited. Throughout the horror-set, Max and her mother Amanda (along with fellow friends) must fend off a machete killer and a creepy counselor to find their way back. Whether or not the two can escape the movie and make it back to reality remains to be seen, but we’re intrigued for the different elements.
