The Girl in the Photographs

Given his history in comedy films like Harold & Kumar, we find it rather difficult to take Kal Penn in a serious role (no disrespect, your films were just too funny). The veteran actor stars in the new Wes Craven produced horror film, The Girl in the Photographs. Also starring the likes of Claudia Lee, Kenny Wormald, Toby Hemingway, Luke Baines, Miranda Rae Mayo, Katharine Isabelle and Mitch Pileggi – the new release was a stand-out feature at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival.

While a simultaneous release to video-on-demand would’ve been something we’d like to see, horror fans get a chance at seeing an under-the-radar effort. The film centers on a young woman by the name of Colleen, who’s receiving photographs of brutally murdered women in her same age group. While she initially believes they aren’t real, the endless pictures continue coming to her inbox, which she has a hunch that the person behind them could be a person with a sick sense of humor.
