Demolition
With a cast of Jake Gyllenhaal, Naomi Watts, and Chris Cooper, we find it very difficult to believe that any film would fail. Unfortunately, that might be the fate for Demolition this month, as critics haven’t been too kind to the previous stand-out film from last year’s Toronto International Film Festival.
Directed by Jean-Marc Vallée, the former indie-film gets a national rollout from Fox Searchlight Pictures; which tells a story on an investment banker by the name of Davis Mitchell, who is trying to cope with the death of his wife. Following a tragic car crash, Davis create an unlikely connection through a vendor complaint, which is the first step to redemption in his life.
The cast alone should be intriguing for casual movie goers to give a second look, but this negative backlash it’s receiving isn’t good for those doing some research.
