The four week reign of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay 2 helming the top spot at box offices is finally ending, after nearly a month holding off competition. With Star Wars: Episode: VII set to generate $200 million in revenue for the weekend alone ($40 million shy of Mockingjay’s total gross), other big budgeted projects like the $100 million invested In the Heart of the Sea film starring Chris Hemsworth will likely fall victim to becoming a loss for some. The theaters are quiet, yet again this weekend, but we’re just happy that a few standout films provide variety this pre-holiday weekend.
