The Witch
Originally premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival, The Witch is one of the stand-out horror films many indie enthusiasts have been waiting on. We’re still questioning why this project is released in February, but we’re always up for a good horror thriller film. Set in 1630 New England, the tale focuses on a family of 6, which two parents have the fear of their lives when the youngest of their four children mysteriously disappears. The oldest daughter, Thomasin is soon blamed for young Samuel vanishing – which leads to the remaining siblings to speculate whether their own blood is practicing witchcraft. We really wish a simultaneous digital release occurred with this project, but the tale of black magic and possession is something to at least give a second look.
