Hail, Caesar!
In rare occasion, we have a former indie and now major release hitting stateside before international film festivals this spring. The film stars the likes of Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Alden Ehrenreich, Ralph Fiennes, Scarlett Johansson, Tilda Swinton, and Channing Tatum – as well as cameos from Frances McDormand and Jonah Hill. Universal Pictures is looking to surprise the industry with their $22 million dollar invested project, highlighted by some notable actors.
The project centers on a Hollywood fixer by the name of Eddie Mannix, who’s helping with the production of a film entitled Hail Caesar – starring Baird Whitlock. However, after a group named The Future kidnaps Whitlock, Mannix is in charge of fronting the $100 grand to rescue him. While you soak in this awkward premise, the mystery comedy film has surprisingly garnered positive reviews from both fans and critics in the last few days.
