The Finest Hours
Walt Disney Studios and Motion Pictures have a big box office film hitting theaters tonight, entitled The Finest Hours. The $80 million-budgeted project starring Chris Pine, Casey Affleck and Ben Foster focuses on a natural disaster that happened nearly 70 years ago. During the 1950s, a blizzard caused the SS Fort Mercer and SS Pendleton to be destroyed by winter winds and waves (see: last week). As the stranded collective of men off the Cape Cod coast await for both crews of motor life boat CG 36500 and USCGC Yakutat to rescue them, there’s a lot to be to be told in this nearly two-hour disaster period drama film.
