Southpaw
We’re not sure how it’s possible for a sports film to overshadow the super hero projects out this year, but Southpaw has every element to be the biggest suprise box office killer this summer. From its recognizable cast of Jake Gyllenhaal, Forest Whitaker, Rachel McAdams, 50 Cent and Rita Ora, the NYC-based project centers on Billy Hope’s contemplation on retiring during the peak of his fame but unfortunately has some major health issues. Whether or not The Great Hope is willing to end his legendary career and drop the middleweight belt is uncertain, a tragedy occurs where Billy must accept a test to reclaim the most important thing in his life.
