The Conjuring 2
While it may not be the most promoted film among new releases this weekend, The Conjuring 2 has seen some heavy momentum generate through social media. Fans of the original have been vouching for the official sequel, which even reviewers have been kind to the early summer gem. With both Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprise their roles as paranormal investigators, we see authors Ed and Lorraine Warren traveling to the UK to help assist a family experiencing paranormal activity.
Set this time in 1977, singer mother Peggy Hodgson notices her daughter showing signs of being possessed by evil spirits, as both Ed and Lorraine attempt to help the young child. However, in the midst of trying to help the young child, they soon find themselves targeted by malicious spirts. We’re sure Warner should recoup their mini investment, but could be surprised in about a month or two of the project receiving steady box office buzz through word of mouth and beyond.
