The Shallows
Normally, we’re used to seeing Blake Lively as a socialite in the upper eastside of Manhattan, but now the runway-esque beauty is starring in a new survival horror thriller film. Also starring Óscar Jaenada and Brett Cullen, Columbia Pictures releases their long-awaited international presentation, The Shallows. Blake assumes the role of Nancy Adams, who is a medical student dealing with the loss of her mother. To cope with her life-changing event, Nancy is in need of a secluded beach, sun and solace – which enables her to become levelheaded once again. Unfortunately, Nancy decides to surf alone 200-yards from shore, where she’s attacked by a great white shark. Now forced to swim to a giant rock in its feeding ground, Nancy becomes stranded, where she must fight for her life against the deadly predator. On paper, the film seems sort of bland, but the action sequences have mostly fans and critics all in favor of this presentation.
