Hello, My Name Is Doris
We’re not sure who came up with the idea of having Sally Field star in a sex-comedy during this day-in-age, but the release of Hello, My Name Is Doris is awkwardly something we’re finding highly entertaining. Using elements from Sex and the City and Younger (both created by the same person), the comedy-drama was one of the stand-out premiers an at last year’s SXSW and finally makes its way to theaters before it’s one-year anniversary. Sally assumes the role of Doris Miller, who ventures off into a relationship with a co-worker half her age by the name of John Fremont.
One overcrowded elevator ride changes the pair’s lives, as Doris reacquires her youthfulness, while John is learning new tricks from an experienced veteran. Whether or not the two have a happy ending isn’t a question, but the 90-minute presentation should have you entertained for the short-term – much like their relationship.
