The Nice Guys
Arguably, the most anticipated film of the weekend for us might suprinsigly be, The Nice Guys. Starring Russell Crowe, Ryan Gosling, Angourie Rice, Matt Bomer, Margaret Qualley, Keith David and Kim Basinger; the former indie-standout originally premiered earlier this week at the 2016 Cannes FIlm Festival and has already received great reviews from fans and critics.
Set in 1970s Los Angeles, the film centers on a private eye, Holland March who starts a partnership with enforcer Jackson Healy. The two soon must work together to solved the long-time city case of missing girl, Amelia Kunter, as well as the suicide death of former porn star Misty Mountains.
As the two unravel details for each case, a shocking conspiracy turns out to be bigger than both Jackson and Holland expected. The neo-noir mystery comedy film is a must-see this weekend, and even has the cast of notable names for any movie goer to give a second look.
