Being Charlie

Last September, attendees at the Toronto International Film Festival were treated to one of the best gems of the year with Being Charlie. Starring Nick Robinson, Common, Cary Elwes, Devon Bostick, Morgan Saylor, Susan Misner and Ricardo Chavira – the new drama film focuses on a troubled 18-year-old youth. With his parents giving him an intervention to enter a drug treatment clinic, Charlie eventually escapes and looks to return home to Los Angeles. With his father, a California politician, looking to assume a role within the state’s office, Charlie finds unusual love in the rehab with a fellow patient by the name of Eva. The two soon share similar circumstances, as Charlie must decide if he wants to leave behind a new love or fall back into the imminent life of temptations.
