God’s Pocket

Serving as one of the last films for the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, God’s Pocket is one of the under the radar gems select cities will get to see this weekend. Unfortunately it’s not releasing to theaters nationwide; but the film forthcoming drama received high praise a few weeks ago at the Sundance Film Festival and was even picked up by IFC Films for distribution purposes.

Starring alongside Hoffman is also Richard Jenkins, Christina Hendricks, John Turturro, Caleb Landry Jones and Eddie Marsan. Coincidentally, P.S.H plays the role of a working man by the name of Mickey who can’t pay off a debt and an UN-pleasable wife and has a stepson named Leon killed in a tragic construction accident. In the small neighborhood of God’s Pocket, Mikcey must decide what to do with the body while struggling with a life and death situation of his own in the process. We would definitely recommend those few out there lucky enough to come across this film to see it in theaters.
