Man Up
An R-Rated rom-com? Count us in! Meet Ben Palmer’s new romantic comedy film, Man Up, starring Simon Pegg and Lake Bell. The project originally premiered last April at the Tribeca Film Festival, and finally sees its theatrical release. Man Up centers on a 30-something-year-old woman, Bell, who comes across an unusual love through a botched blind date. Bell is mistaken for a stranger by recently 40-year-old divorce male, Jack, who essentially becomes the perfect boyfriend she needs in her life. While there’s imminent awkwardness initially when Bell plays along with Jack on the blind-date, movie goers of this genre will look past the generic storylines and praise the film on acting alone. We’re hoping it just get overlooked this month – and next.
