I Smile Back
Originally premiered last month at the Toronto International Film Festival, I Smile Back sees its official limited theatrical release tonight. The film stars the great Sarah Silverman, as many critics are already calling it one of her best performances to date. The drama motion picture focuses Laney, a mother of two children and wife to a caring husband – who seems to have the perfect life.
However, beneath her upper-middle-class home of happiness is some dark personal issues from her past and comprises everything she’s built with husband Bruce over the years. Before Laney has a nervous breakdown from depression she makes an unlikely attempt at redemption following a major loss. Whether or not Mrs. Brooks regains her smile remains to be seen, but this will be one of the pictures talked about this fall.
