Suffragette

Originally premiered last month at the Telluride Film Festival, we’re introduced to another historical period drama that will gain notoriety in media during pink month. Starring Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter, Meryl Streep, Ben Whishaw, Brendan Gleeson and Anne-Marie Duf – Suffragette centers on the struggles of the late 19th and 20th century women had to endure in Britain; and is even the first film in history to be shot in the Houses of Parliament. The feminist movement to fight for equal rights in the legendary game of cat-and-mouse with their opposites comes to light when the nation is coincidentally pushing for its first woman president.
