Black Mass
We’ve been in desperate need of a crime film for quite some time and we’re really hoping Black Mass can be our fix this weekend. Premiered over a year ago at the Venice International Film Festival in Italy, the story of legendary infamous Irish-American mobster Whitey Bulger is finally shared to the public. With a notable cast of Johnny Depp, Joel Edgerton, Benedict Cumberbatch, Kevin Bacon, Jesse Plemons, Peter Sarsgaard, Rory Cochrane, Adam Scott, Dakota Johnson, and Corey Stoll – we really hope Warner Bros.’ gem this month doesn’t go under-the-radar.
Set in South Boston, the masterpiece revolves around the organized crime leader, who coincidentally had a brother that was Massachusetts State Senator. Throughout the time of the 1970s and 1908s, it’s noted that Bulger becomes an alphabet informant to take down another mafia family invading his turf of the Irish-American Winter Hill Gang. The tale of the most ruthless gangster in the history of South Boston is a must-watch for any fans of crime-biography films.
