The Keeping Room
One of the stand-out premieres last September at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival, was action-thriller The Keeping Room. Starring Brit Marling, Hailee Steinfeld, Muna Otaru, Sam Worthington, Amy Nuttall, and Ned Dennehy – the project unfortunately sees a limited theatrical release tonight. We just really hope it makes it way to video-on-demand, rather sooner than later. Set in the 19th century, the film center on three Southern women (two sisters and one slave), who must fight off two specific Union Army rogue soldiers. Whether or not they’re successful remains to be seen, but we’re sure any readers of the final days for the American Civil War should be intrigued to at least give this film a second look.
