The Blackcoat’s Daughter

Last year at the Toronto Film Festival, movie goers were introduced to the new horror-title, The Blackcoat’s Daughter. The film, starring Emma Roberts, Lucy Boynton, Kiernan Shipka, James Remar and Lauren Holly centers on a group of girls at a boarding school, who bond together by a series of sinister events. Joan, who’s the lead culprit of the ladies, makes a pilgrimage across a frozen landscape towards the previously mentioned prep school where she meets students Rose and Kat.

Both girls find themselves stranded after their parents fail to retrieve them for winter break. However, Joan’s plot reaches cross-roads, when she plagues Kat with terrifying visions, as Roses watches while possessed by an evil force. Hopefully this is simultaneously released to video-on-demand because little promotion had us not in the known for this indie standout.
