Do you ever recommend TV shows to friends and they forget what it was you told them and proceed not to watch what you suggested? Do they ever tell you about shows that don’t sound like anything you’d watch so you don’t, even though they say it’s good?
Netflix is making it easier to ignore your friend’s picks, thanks to a thing they call Flixtapes. Their tag line for the new new service is “like mixtapes, for Netflix.” The whole purpose is to compose playlists full of TV shows and movies of your liking and share them with friends so they can watch at some point. How effective it’ll be is another story, but thanks to the streaming service, people can bombard you with their playlists all over Twitter and Facebook.
You can make your Spotiflixtape over at flixtape.netflix.com/.
