Harlem on a rise. . . .
While nobody expected the series to be cancelled, Marvel revealed today on social media that Netflix had officially renewed their latest live-action series, Luke Cage, for a second season.
Following positive reviews from critics, fans and the hood last fall, it was a no brainer for Harlem-based show to have a sophomore class. It now joins Daredevil and Jessica Jones as the third show renewed on the streaming platform. Unfortunately, news regarding a premiere date wasn’t announced, as Marvel already has the third season of Daredevil, second season of Jessica Jones and the freshman introduction of The Punisher all to take place in 2017.
That’s not even counting The Defenders team-up show, which will feature all four characters for an Avengers-like presentation for phase one of the Marvel Netflix Universe. Take a look at the first teaser below and stay tuned for a trailer possibly during the summer.
Always forward. #LukeCage pic.twitter.com/4pnu52KFKr
