The VSCO app has had more influence than you probably realize. The platform put their foot on the neck of Instagram and are reason why they have more filters offered on the social network. They are responsible for a community full of more photography skilled users, as opposed to the meme filled base that IG has.
Now the VSCO team has developed a new app that will add a bit more range to what they have been successfully doing for years. GIFs!
DSCO (available only on iOS for now) lets you create videos up to 2.5 seconds and add them to your VSCO feeds. So in essence, you can make short GIFs with filters. They can also be saved on your camera roll and published on other social networks as well. The app takes more game from Snapchat, except for the fact that the story doesn’t disappear.
The idea came after users from the VSCO community asked for more creative tools than just photos.
For now, the app is not available on Android but developers are working hard to bring it on there. They first started on Android, so it only makes sense they build that version too.
