After the summer blockbusters concluded in August, we have the fall line-up of films to look forward to starting with the crime thriller “Prisoners.” The upcoming film stars Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Terrence Howard which you would expect a generic offering given the title but no so much with the deep storyline the movie has to offer. Hugh Jackman plays a small town carpenter in Boston who finds out his six-year-old daughter and best friend (Howard’s daughter) have both been kidnapped.
Jake Gyllenhaal plays the role of a local detective, which he starts an investigation; but discouraged by the process, Jackman takes it into his hands to capture a man he believes is responsible. Hugh’s plan is to get his captee to confess to the crimes; but lies, secrets and betrayal all surface in the process leaving some confused at the actions that transpired.
