For those not too familiar with Jonathan Mannion, he is the photographer responsible for some of hip-hop’s most iconic shots and album covers over the years. He’s worked with everyone from Eminem, Ludacris, Outkast, and Drake, capturing photographs that remain timeless to this day. For the next two weeks, he has an art exhibit open to the public at the Milk Gallery in New York showcasing his work shot on 665 Polaroid film. The exhibit shows off classic shots from Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt album cover, to DMX’s Flesh Of My Flesh, Blood Of My Blood and even a young Kanye West during his College Dropout days.
If you’re in the tri-state area, his gallery will run Mon–Fri: 10:00am to 6:00pm and Sat–Sun: 11:00am to 6:30pm at 450 West 15th Street, New York 10011. It’s something to definitely check out if you’re a fan of the art!
You can peep some of his most notable shots after the jump, as well as our own photo recap of the opening reception, with pictures of Tuesday night’s event.
