Like, “Cheaters,” but with more of a plot and suspense.

Showtime has a new TV drama on deck for October and by the looks of the teaser, The Affair looks intriguing. At first glance, we peeped because of Detective McNulty from The Wire, but once you find out who executive produced and wrote the series, things start coming together better. At the least, it might be worth giving it a chance.

The show is about a teacher named Noah (Dominic West) and waitress named Allison (Ruth Wilson) who are having an affair on their respective husband and wife. It will tell both sides of the story from the male, female and family perspective and make you question who’s right or wrong in this instance, considering there’s different dynamics that take place during an affair. It’s not as simple as, “they had sex.”

The show was created by House Of Cards writer and executive producer Sarah Treem, former The Wire producer Eric Overmyer and former Friday Night Lights producer Jeffrey Reiner, as well as Hagai Levi. It’s safe to say they have some experience.

After your curiosity heightens by watching the teaser above, stay tuned for the premiere of The Affair on October 12 on Showtime.
