The cord-cutting online TV wars are heating up and SLING TV is on the offensive right now, with the launch of DirecTV Now around the corner. Considering DirecTV and Playstation VUE will offer cloud DVR, SLING TV is now throwing their hat in the ring for the platform, announcing that they will launch in an invite-only beta for Roku users next month.
While Playstation VUE allows users to keep content for 28 days, SLING TV is offering 100 hours of DVR for free and will only delete the oldest already viewed content once subscribers pass the 100 hour mark. This also leaves open the possibility to charge for additional storage later on.
If you have Roku and want to be part of he beta, you can sing up over on sling.com/dvr.
They are still working out the kinks of how the DVR will actually work when they roll out to all of their users past the beta, but we’re sure this will make existing customers excited.
